Cosmetic acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the face to improve skin tone and circulation, reduce fine lines, enhance elasticity and stimulate collagen.

Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as facial acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture, is a technique from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cosmetic acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the face to improve skin tone and circulation, reduce fine lines, enhance elasticity and stimulate collagen. Acupuncture points on the face also help with stress, and when used in conjunction with body acupuncture, can target multiple health conditions.

Cosmetic acupuncture:

  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles

  • Enhances skin elasticity and firmness

  • Has a lifting and sculpting effect

  • Reduces puffiness

  • Can be used with or as an alternative to Botox or fillers

But how does cosmetic acupuncture do this?

Cosmetic acupuncture enhances skin texture while lifting and firming by increasing local blood circulation and improving muscle tone. Likewise, the micro-injuries caused by the very fine needles triggers the skin’s natural healing response boosting collagen and improving elasticity. The use of facial cupping and gua sha in a treatment enhances lymphatic drainage which reduces fluid retention and puffiness. As cosmetic acupuncture works by stimulating natural healing, it can take time to see the full benefits. Therefore, a full course of cosmetic acupuncture consists of 10 treatments once or twice weekly.
